River Deep.

This started off as yet another attempt create a cliff face with vertical sides, something that has eluded me in the past. Once I figured out the trick it became a canyon ... again.
I'll upload a TGD file showing how to create a vertical cliff face separately. The canyon is obviously two of these side by side.
C and C welcome and thanks for looking.

One question. How deep do you think the canyon is?

This is really great Richard.  The light, depth and camera angle really make it interesting.

looks great Richard... 10 miles?

Looks really deep Richard.

Gives me that feeling in the stomach when one is up high and looks down.

Good work.

TheBadger

richard, is this from your animation with the ship and falls? What happened with that?

Looks great! I would say its a 1000 feet or more.
It has been eaten.

Well I suppose it is a sort of extension of the DeepGreen animation idea. It's definitely a more robust canyon creation setup :)
No I never finished that one, I've gone back to it several times but there were so many issues that impacted on render time I've put it in one side for the time being.
Cheers for asking though :)

Richard, again I offer any assistance I can in optimizing the render times on that scene... :D I may not be able to do anything, but then I may...

Wow! Fantastic sense of space and height. I'd say ~ 1500meters?
