Messing around with some clouds.  Added the ground in as an after thought but it turned out not too bad.  Vegetation includes Dune's Heather and Walli's dry bushes and grass.

Here is the full image of the previous, but I like the vertical crop better.

Lady of the Lake

I like the second one best.....get to see more of that wonderful sky.

Dune

I like the horizontal version better because of the expansiveness, but I prefer the vertical crop because the ground is very nice. In other words; the heather bushes seem a bit forlorn and too large on the right half of the ground. On the left side they blend well into ground colors/displacements. I think you should expand on this, it's really nice.

Beautiful. I would say I agree with everything Dune said.

TheBadger

I prefer the vertical comp. But I like the size and extra information in the horizontal... what Dune said.
Also, the blue in image one feels more natural than image two, to me.
It has been eaten.

Thanks for the comments, I agree the right hand side is not as good as the left.  Here is an update, and it is better, but could still be better yet I think.

The vegetation coverage is among the best I have seen as well as the clouds. What I would like to see is a better balance of the sky/terrain ratio; say 1/3 terrain, 2/3 sky.

The vertical crop pleases me more. Less information, more intriguing. ,-)

Agreed with the comment above.

For me, both are looking great. Surface and the sky!

But together, they look wrongly photoshopped..  :D
