Some renders by staff?

In my art program at school I would occasionally challenge my professors to bring in their work and let me and the rest of the students have a look. Inevitably, my peers would jump in and the teacher would succumb to pressure. It was usually quite fun to see their work. And indeed their work always showed them well qualified to lead our classes.

Obviously Matt, Oshyan, and jo are not our teachers and never give us harsh crit, or low grades. So its not at all the same. there is no question whatsoever about staffs qualifications to talk about their soft. None! just being clear.

Still...

I can think of three renders that I have seen that I know are Oshyan's. One of those is among my favorite renders I have seen.
And I remember a post on mars from Matt that was outstanding! He even posted the TGD(s). Which was very nice to do.
Don't recall a image from jo, though. But I think I remember a post from him that indicated his interests were more in how software works, and making it useful, rather than obsessing about using it him self. Though there was some indication in his words that he does make images of his own. Sorry cant remember which post that was...

Anyway, I would love to see some resent work from staff! Personal or for work. And Im not looking to even the playing field like I was with my teachers. Rather I just want the opportunity to ask more questions. But mostly to see some new high level stuff to judge my self by. That is, To see how far I have come, and how much further I have to go. Surly I can do that now with work that is posted by members. But since this is my post, the novelty of getting to see the "Makers" work can't be lost on me.

Please? Pretty please with pixels on top?

It will be fun!

Hi Michael,

You can see my most recent renders here:

I did them just two days ago ;-).

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to really sit down and try to create something with any aesthetic value for a long while. I do spend time working with various aspects of the app of course but I'm not really doing it with aim of getting nice looking results. I simply don't have the time with development and testing. If I had any free time I would like to spend more time creating stuff with TG, but if I'm not building the software I'm building my house. One of these days I'll have some free time again! Maybe then I'll post some images :-).

Regards,

Jo

Wow! Awesome.... please continue working on the soft, Jo!!  ;)  (joke, of course)

TheBadger

lol. I knew I would get an answer like that  ;D

Ok, its a fair and funny response.
Hope you get some more leisure time, Jo. Although, building your own house sounds like a pretty nice way to spend the day.

Maybe Oshyan and Matt will post an image or two?

There's a lovely render that accompanied another clipfile from Matt called, something like, 'mackeral_sky_for_2.0.tgc'. Do a quick search for it, and snatch up the .tgc while you're there!

There are lots of beautiful cloud files in the thread i should start to explore (again).
~ The annoying popularity of Vue brought me here.. ~

Yeah! Thats pretty sweet too.

Thanks for bringing that link up.

Sadly, I must more or less precisely echo the latter part of Jo's comment:

I have some ideas for scenes I want to work on when I get the chance. Mostly reproductions of real places, always trying to push the realism bar forward. Happily, since I last really attempted such a thing, TG and my computing resources have both advanced a good amount. By the time I tackle such a project, I will be expecting some really realistic results, and so should you (expect that of me, I mean). :D

heres something Oshyan did...

probably holds the record for the highest micro-triangle count unless someone has surpassed it.

Never saw those before, Zlain. They are from 2009, just before I learned of this soft. Im sure I have missed a lot.

Oshyan,
I was sure you have been busy too, and Matt also. But nothing wrong with a little goading  ;)
After all, is it the material that brought us to the artistic, or the artistic that brought us to the pragmatic?
I hope the work feeds you and your families. But I hope the art makes you happy. I know I sure like looking at it!

Anyway, I can wait. I still prefer the old glass heinz ketchup bottles to the new plastic squezze ones ;)  ;D

Those clouds are awesome. There is a slight fractalness to the overal large scale but the smaller shapes are great. Definitely a file to explore further.
