I guess someone really built this... Sounds like a good idea to me.

Zombies or not, there are plenty of reasons to give up on the idea of a better world  ;D

Great until the power goes! Still reckon an island is yer best bet, something with it's own deep water supply and cultivatable land and preferably just over the horizon so as not to attract attention.

Kerguelen Islands maybe ...:)

Need a drone proof house on your island Richard.

Hopefully My wife and I will start to build our family home sometime next year. So I have been looking at all of this "secure building" stuff.
I am thinking it will be better to build a smaller house with lots of features, rather than a "big" house for the same price... Ill tell you that there is some nice features in the zombie house from the OP. And given that I live where there are tornadoes, I am definitely building in reinforced concrete instead of wood frame.

Really, it should be illegal to build wood frame in places where there are frequent natural disasters. Especially since concrete is priced competitively. The only draw back is that concrete homes are difficult to expand at a later time. So you really need to know what you need and want when you start.

Not a problem Richard.

I think a big enough geothermal system can generate electricity too?

Hmmmm, I guess in survivalism, redundancy is key. So if the power goes, and the alternative solutions fail during cloudy days. Then in the case of zombies one could build a large closed "hamster" wheel put 3-4 zombies inside and some meet on a stick in front. Or, incase of no zombies, then you could fill the wheel with as many politicians as you can, and put a dollar bill on a string in front. In order to generate energy.

Just have to be willing to improvise.
