Fantastic guys.
Just one question, upgrade price is time limited ?
I mean :  upgrade will keep the same price in the next months or it's only for some day after the release ?

That made me smile.
Thanks PlanetSide! :)

Will there be any path that goes from Terragen 3 Professional w/o animation to T3 Professional w/ animation (if you go for the one w/o and then decide to upgrade later)?

Adding animation to either Creative or Professional is a $199 upgrade, i.e. TG3 Creative purchased then animation upgrade purchased, $199 + $199 = $398, vs. $349 buying with Animation to begin with.

This upgrade pricing will be for a limited but reasonable amount of time.

I can see : "Terragen 2 without Animation to Terragen 3 Professional with Animation (1 workstation license + 5 render node licenses): $349"

Is there any path from TG2 without anim to TG3 pro with anim (1 workstation licence only) ?

pokoy

Prices for the upgrade are very reasonable, thanks for that!

One thing: I saw the announcement on facebook which led me to have a look here but it seems there was nor e-mail sent out yet to those who subscribed? Not that the masses will miss it but I think sending out an e-mail as well would be good.

Again, looking forward to TG3!!

Oshyan, just for clarity's sake - TG2 Deep Animation to TG3 Pro Animation is only $149, correct?  I see $199 with render nodes, but I'm confused about that distinction.  I can still render without the render node, can't I?  What is this node?
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

With 1 license you are allowed to use Terragen on 1 machine at the same time.

Render nodes probably mean that you can render your scene on multiple machines at once.
Such a machine is called a node and that node is used to render, thus a render node.

I think it's a bit like this in a nutshell, I'm not 100% sure, so Oshyan or somebody else will probably chime in if there's more to it.

One thing is for sure: without additional render nodes, so when only having one TG3 license, you can still render your projects on your machine.

Thanks TU!  This is what I thought.  I don't use render nodes, so I'm good at $149, though maybe I should consider getting a node for another render.  Hmmm.  Something to consider.

That option is not being offered at this time.

Pokoy, we'll certainly be sending out announcements to the past TG2 purchasers, but we wanted to have the release date and upgrade pricing available before doing so.

Rob, Martin is correct, a render node would be used if you had multiple computers and wanted to e.g. render a scene on one system while working on modifications or a different scene on another, or to distribute rendering of say an animation across multiple machines. I personally have 3 machines here and sometimes I am rendering on all 3. That would not be possible with the $149 upgrade as it is just a license for the 1 machine. All TG licenses are for a single *user*, so you could not have TG installed on say 3 machines and have one being used by a colleague to make his own TG stuff while you work on something else. But if you have additional render node licenses you can use multiple machines to render things and distribute the load, get things done faster. It's a feature more of use to professionals which is why we provided the lower-cost upgrade.

Thanks Oshyan (and TU) for explaining to someone who has been around long enough to know better.   :P
