thank you guys -- yes I agree that it is a failure from a composition point of view. Way too heavy on the left. My fill lighting and such came in from the wrong direction, my original goal (failed) was to be looking at the view from within shadows on a narrow strip of beach and the interesting cliff thing to the left. It might have worked better if it were taller and darker, but anyway, I know what you mean.
