I suppose this question has been asked 100 times, but obviously it's not possible to add a population on an imported geometry (.obj) ? Or maybe there is a workaround for this ?

Not yet. The only workaround I can think of is making the object into a vector displacement map and distort your terrain thus.

Hi Dune,

Thanks for your reply.
Hope a solution will be available soon, looks like I have hit a wall here  :'(

Populate the object before you bring it in. Its a huge pain though.
Essentially thats what I did with my "mazeworld" thing. Its not a lot of fun.

Hi Paq,

This is something we're planning to do.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Ho that's great to ear !

Hi TheBadger,

Yes that's what I was thinking to do, but I'll lost to much flexibility :)

Would love to be able to use 3dcoat for creating some crazy shape, and use terragen for the rest (population, displacement).

Im with you paq!
Loosing flexibility is not the only bad part. Its also a big system drain dragging around and storing massive OBJs.

Also glad to hear Matt say he's working on this. hope its a priority!
