Clouds not moving

Been playing with Terragen 3 and tried to create some kind of mystical canyon. Whipped up random canyon fast and started first with an
idea to use moving clouds+light sources on the bottom of the canyon.  Here's a quick animation I rendered overnight on my laptop.
I was trying to get the clouds moving and on the animate settings cloud should move almost 1km during that short period of time but
at least on the video it doesn't seem that the clouds would be "alive"... Any ideas as to how to get them moving? Or any better ideas
on how to get some kind of mystical glowing haze which would also be moving? Attached is alo the .tgd

Firstly don't animate the cloud node. Animate the Cloud fractal plugged into it.
If you're using tg3 then there is a "4D" noise tab in all Cloud fractal and Power fractal nodes. This will enable you to get your clouds to evolve/change/move over time.
The other option (probably best to use both) is to move the cloud fractal in the y axis.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the ideas! I'll try them.
Out of curiousity, why shouldn't the cloud node be animated? Just trying to understand how this all works.

The cloud node (Cloud layer v2) is a container for the cloud, it applies constraints of max and min height and diameter (if "Localise" is ticked) along with a bunch of other stuff. Basically it limits the bit of the Cloud fractal you get to see. The actual shape of the cloud (which is the bit that needs animating) is created by whatever you plug into its "Density shader" input (usually but not limited to a Cloud fractal).

Thanks for great explanation! Sounds a  bit like photoshops layermask then (:
