I'm a little confused.   He goes through a multi-step process to created normal maps. Since he already uses Crazybump to make the displacement map, why not use Crazybump to create the normal map as well (especially since it seems to be simpler in Crazybump)?

I don't know how useful this really is, I just chanced upon these sites, and found the way of photographing with light from 4 angles interesting. I still think it's very hard to make a really dark protruding object on a light low ground stand out in normal or bump/displacementmaps. I don't know how that is done in photogrammetry. You should maybe paint everything midgray first  ;)
