Still Life in TG3

An old room from Imagine3D days, a table I've had forever, no idea where from, chopped a branch off a Cherry tree to put in the vase and and I think that bowl of fruit came from RENDEROSITY FREESTUFF way back. The DoF didn't work as well as I'd[attachimg=1] had hoped, but the spotlight performs well.

I'm a little confused.  Wasn't this posted a few days back?  More to the point, though, I'm a little unsure as to where the DOF effect is supposed to be.  Are the background trees supposed to be out of the DOF?  If so, they are too dark to tell.  I think this is a either a bad scene to try DOF on, or a bad angle, because so many of the major elements are the same distance away from the camera.

Still, it's not a bad scene, though.  Although, I think your lighting could use some more sampling.

Yeah, for the most part I agree...originally I wanted the D o F to isolate the still life and blur out the near fore ground and most of the back ground but couldn't tweak it to do that so I dropped a spot light in so the scene wasn't a total waste and will do it again with more samples on the light..thanks for the input...
re: posting...I posted it on FB and renderosity but not here till now.
oooops...guess I did...seems getting my pension is affecting my memory...have to cut back on the spliffs I guess.....

Many thanks mate...as I was originally interested in TG2-3 as an aid to architects (I have friends in that industry) in visualizing I've been lately on a campaign to get interior lighting down. Not an easy task given that TG is biased towards out doors...but am having fun and some successes....
