Lady of the Lake

(snowy trees by Marc Gebhart; Grass by Walli; winter trees ?)

I know the snowflakes are not right but I liked them anyway.  :-)

I love everything about that picture - except the snow in the sky.  I understand why you did; so as not to have to in PP, and to show off a neat way to manipulate the cloud shader.  But it looks a little off.  Also, I might add in some white or grey atmosphere to simulate snow that's too far away to be seen.

Good creation Lyla. We don't often see scenes with snow and snow laden trees.

I am curious if you can bring the snow down into the main area of the image. Or if it can only hang in the upper area.
It has been eaten.

Dune

No, the snow isn't the best part. But there's an interesting challenge for you to get it to work. How did you do these, by the way? You could try with a Y stretched very small cloud fractal, and a low cloud, just in front of the camera. Quality not very high, even extremeley low, and you might get decent flakes. Just experiment.

Lady of the Lake

I have no idea how I got the snow.  This started out not a winter scene.  I was playing with atmosphere and clouds and suddenly got snow!!!!   ;D   So I changed everything else.   Since I don't know what is making the snow I don't know how to change it/make it better.

Would need more detail in how to do what you suggested Dune.

Thanks for the comments.

Dune

You could try this, maybe needs some adjustments... (a quicky).

Lady of the Lake

Thank you.  I will try this.

Lady of the Lake

Well, a whole different mood in this one, but the snow is better and goes to the ground...is not floating at tree line.   :)  Thanks, Dune.

On to the next.

Isn't this fun? We can see you are having a great time putting these very good images together. This is a big improvement over the previous scene Lyla ....keep up the good work.

yossam

Better..............keep it up.  :)

Dune

Much better indeed. One minor improvement might be to get some undulation in the ground, if you still want to spend time on this one.

masonspappy

I really like the last image!

Lady of the Lake

Have been trying to do the small hills like Dune suggested.  Even with his help I can't seem to get this right. So here are screen captures of what I am getting.  Not a pretty picture.  :(    I am such a newbie about this stuff.
