Oh, oh.. Crazy Mandelbulbers are striking again..  ;D

Beautiful, all of them!

They could work as matte backgrounds for Sci-Fi or Fantasy stills/illustrations but also for some live action footage maybe..

*Edit: Took a needed break from working on my Diploma project and made a quick and dirty Photoshop rape with one of your pictures for relaxation:  :D

The assassin is a concept art drawn by Aaron Beck for the movie "Elysium". He's one of my favoured concept-artist heroes:

The cool city like pictures could work well when masked/prepared with the projection technic onto simple 3D models with the shape of those "buildings".
Give them some lightning, some particles, add in a flying ship or somewhat and it should be done, even for some fine short animations..

How many time does it needs to render such a 2000x1125 pix picture? What CPU are you using if I may ask?

Keep up the cool work.

my cpu: i have a sandy bridge 2600k

mandelbulb 3D renders faster than TG, but it is not 64bit yet, also Mandelbulb3D doesnt use AA for still images, only animation sequences.
enabling features like DOF, transparency, hard shadows,  & reflections will increase render time.

did a render of honeycomb decadence at that resolution you mentioned and it came out to 2:06secs

I have to laughing out loud!

Using a OC'ed but similar CPU like you (2700K), I was generally expecting such renders would need hours, not minutes.  ;D

Never ever mandelbulpeped around for myself till yet, even I was interested by shown stuff in elder Mandelbulb threads.
I still know nothing about it. But it's still a very interesting thing - and something I should rly touch in future..

some do take 3 or more hours, when i do large 5k or 7k size renders, with soft shadows, dof, reflections. of course i let those run over night.

Nice animation Lane!

Does have the animations always the problems seen on the edges?
Is there a way to get rid of them, besides making bigger renders and cropping?

Bjur

Hehe, "GEMA says no" because of some SME music content in your video.

I'll try it later again but then with my location/IP hided.
