Dune

I see what you mean, Michael, but in this case it's probably just the structure of the image; lots of crisscrossing stems and leaves, kinda rough clouds, and the water reflects that, so the whole image gets 'no rest'.

Very Nice.  How did you get the pond scum in there? It's a nice detail

yossam

The pond scum is a surface layer with a PF in the color function slot. Both colors are two different shades of algae looking green.  :)

Bjur

The pond scum fits perfect and looks very natural to me.

Am I dreaming or is sitting now a little frog on that leaves!? Awesome, thank you!  ;D
~ The annoying popularity of Vue brought me here.. ~

I aims to please.............you're welcome.  :)

It looks super good! The only thing...I would not display it in my house...trying not to be offensive...its just not an interesting subject. It is an exceptional use of terregen...the water and plants are excellent but, the overall concept, balance and artistic influence is....well uninteresting....sorry! I'm being honest and I hope you are honest with me. A very good landscape and use of Terregen but, just not a winner. Art needs excitement....something different....a focal point...something everyone can have an emotional response too...that is art...this is art just not exceptional art in my humble and stupid opinion....keep on man!!!

^^ I agree and I disagree. I don't think the subject is unworthy, I just think it is a very literal representation of the subject with not much time spent on Esthetics. And by Esthetics I don't mean just if something looks good or not. I mean Style, interpretation, statement and so on.

I find Yossam's images in general to be very straight forward and honest. (Which is not to say others are dishonest or something). Just simple natural landscapes. Something someone in my life is always telling me I should focus on.

Not arguing with Markal here. Just trying to participate in a broader discussion. I do agree that the image is unexciting, but thats what I think the value of it is. The second some wind is added (or the sense of a breeze), or a cinematic lens effect or anything like that, it would become an entirely different image. Personally. Im rather exhausted from exciting things. Thats what I focus on, thats whats in the movies and on TV and in the news. Thats why that someone I mentiond wants me to fucus on simpler things. But who can change?

In general I always hope to find more series when I look in the forums here. So where you start out with an image, get it great, and then go in and change the images feeling/emotion/idea, but not change whats in the render.
So take Yossam's image, and the next one its the same scene, but a storm is coming. Or its the same scene, but 20 years later and everything is dead... But then its not a simple landscape anymore.

Is this any better........................?  :P

Dune

It is, but it would still be better if you add another object, IMO, like a duck nibbling between the reeds, or a water rail, or a lost rubber duck...

Final.................. :P

Good.  Although a little dark on my monitor.

Markal

I really like the detail and plants...the ducks add a focal point especially since the male is tracking the female :)....ahhhh, now a story to the image. Much better and I agree a bit dark...still, much better art!!!

TheBadger

looks pretty natural to me. Still see a bit of blur from the compression though. But thats not your fault I know.

Actually, now that I'm home, it looks a lot better.  One of the monitors must be off.
