Hello,

It was the occasion with the new update of Terragen to do an image. Here I played with the new displacement objects.
I have encountered a problem with the painted Shader : I don't know why, but the vegetation population doesn't follow the painted mask, instead it populates elsewhere. So I used some colors fractal instead to place this vegetation randomly.

Something else : The bushes and grass didn't follow exactly the terrain. In the foreground, they were beneath the ground while it was fine in the background, so I raised the altitude accordingly so that it looks fine in the front of the terrain, the problem is that this time, in the far distance, the vegetation were placed well over the ground. This is why I choose not to populate there.
Could someone indicate what I should do to avoid this problem ?

Thank you,
David.

Do you have larger displacements after compute terrain? If so, it might be good to attach the objects/pops to the last node before planet, so it can include those displacements into its height calculation.
I don't understand the painted shader issue. Is it possible to post the tgd, so I (we) can have a look what might cause that?

Antoine

Thank you Dune!
I have followed your advice and the problem has been fixed indeed. It appears also that in someway the painted shader problem were related to it since it works now.
I will post an another image as soon as I can. I find this one too grainy.

Antoine

I think this version looks better, what do you think ?

David.

Looks nice!
I would only try to change the harsh look of the displacements by lowering them or-and by using another pixel filter.

Antoine

Thank you Kadri!
Here is the final image, I made some noise adjustments.

TheBadger

It has been eaten.
