Subdiv cache problem
April 24, 2014, 04:48:14 AM
TG keeps complaining about the size of the subdiv cache before render. It says the cache is too low and it can effect negatively the render speed. Right now it is 50Mb per core and I have 16 cores. What is the best cache size for 16 cpu setup?

Best to use 100MB per core, if you have a good amount of memory. So 1600MB. However, unless you are using a setup where you have already changed the default, it should auto-scale the subdiv cache size.

I have an 8 core i7, and it automatically sets it to 1200 MB. Only when I start a file in a 2 core machine and open in the i7, I have to manually change that (to 1600), which works well.

Thx for the answers. I did set it for 1600Mb and TG seems happy with it. At least no more complains..
