Zoom Lens help
May 22, 2014, 03:57:56 AM
Looking for a zoom lens(around 200mm) for my Nikon D3100 camera. The f/ number can be high as I will not use it at night. The price as low as possible...hehe...
Can someone suggest a good but budget lens?

I know the price must be as low as possible.
But I would suggest a VR version (Vibrating Reduction)
You can find 55-200, 55-300, 70-300.
The best one is the 70-300
Would suggest for low budget Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5,6 Di LD IF Macro 1/2 around 100 euros (no VR)

I've got a Nikon 18-200 (VR) which is very excellent and my standard lens, but it will be more expensive than 100 euros.

Thx Dune. I found a 55-200 Nikkor for 110Euros. Not that bad...price-wise...
Another question I have is the VR is really important?

It reduces unsharpness with low shutterspeeds, but if you hold your camera steady, it's not thát important. If you find a good deal and the lens hasn't got it, I wouldn't hesitate. But if it's only a minor sum more, I'd go for VR.
