DT finally added Blender training. This is the first in the series.

I use DT and can tell you that, while DT alone won't get you all the way in any soft. The tutorials that it has are very good. This introduction to blender looks just as good as any of the Maya tuts I have used.

Anyway I am just posting this because I know there a more than a few blender users in this community, and I have heard a lot of people say that blender can be hard to deal with. So this may be of help to you.

As far as I know, blender is still the only free full 3d package out there.

Happy modeling.

I'll check it out.  My old Blender vs. Carrara thread is still playing out.  I want to dabble in animation but Terragen still lacks support for it.

Thank you, will check it out. Blender is certainly a different kind of animal and takes commitment to get anything out of it. Wish I had the time, I'd rather be spending it in Terragen though :)

the only time I have watched tutorials is when I get stuck with something, usually when trying to do physical simulations.

I started using using blender about a year and a half ago (frequently)
first I was using Lightwave, then Max, played with maya and mudbox for a bit, now I have switched to Blender 3D.
