Hi,
Ive been experimenting with using Daz3D figures imported as obj in a Terragen scene. It all works fine except the eyes and eyelashes which just show up as grey or with eyelashes as just a solid block. Ive tried to remap the textures with image map nodes but cant get it to work. has anybody done this successfully?

Thanks

The eyelashes use a trans map. Just place it in the opacity image slot of your shader. The eyes are a different story. You will have to use a water shader for the transparent  part of the eye. It is about the only option.  :)

I have tried the water shader on the 'eye reflection' part, but it still looks wrong, sort of a milky grey colour.

Kinda looks like cataracts................. :o

Been there done that. I'm afraid that is the only option.

Even though the answers are always the same, I still like when these questions get asked.
Hope the answer will be different sooner rather than later.

I take them through Poseray, and combine 6 'eye' textures/parts into one 'part'. Lacrimal, tear, pupil, iris, and another 2. Then just apply the eye texture to that. Good enough for not too close-ups, though with an added RT reflection it might well be quite good up close, never tried that. I combine lots more into 1 part, as some parts use the same map. Needs some figuring out.

Thanks for the replies.

I have attempted to make my own eye model in Blender and place it in the eye sockets of the model. Also put a reflective shader over the top to add extra gloss.

Its a bit fiddly to line up, but should be able to use it.

Thanks again  8)
