I thought it would be helpful to try to keep all inspiration and reference imagery under a single topic. So for future inspiration image, video, or music links, just post a reply to this thread.
Here are a few to get things started!
Video:This is a realistic and largely unglamorized time lapse view of Iceland. Colors seem fairly true-to-life (though I would guess there is some enhancement, at least in a few scenes, a bit of saturation added here and there for example) and a variety of locations and textures are explored. Particularly interesting and useful are a couple of zoom shots, showing a range of scales and distances of a single location. This may be *the* video to watch if you had to pick just one:
http://vimeo.com/104861350A fantastic winter time lapse exploration of Iceland mostly showcasing some amazing aurora footage (apparently resulting from an X-class solar flare!). The ice cave footage is also stunning, and lets me remember how incredible that experience was (probably my favorite of the trip I took). The aurora really gets crazy around the halfway mark:
http://vimeo.com/90536368A rather nice video of one couple's trip to Iceland. It starts out a little slow, but it has a really good variety of imagery, and more natural colors than many photos you see:

And finally, something posted on the forums back in June of this year that is all the more interesting and relevant now:
