I downloaded and rendered the Benchmark TGD, and then posted the results for my machine.
Then I moved the camera and found this Point of View, and decided I would try to "make it my own" so to speak.
The result seems to be a Happy Little Accident!

Thats pretty nice. Like the area a lot. Only thing I would say is to add something to the rocks to break em up a bit in direction and shape.

Hah, wow. Not bad. I like what you've done with the sky.

The terrain along the right is reminiscent of Bryce in Utah.

Thank you Guys  :)
Badger: I tried first adding a Power Fractal, and then another, but I am not sure the rocks look any better as this picture shows.
If I use too much displacement the Cliff Face breaks down into little Mole Hills.
If this was your picture, what would you do?  Thanks in advance - Jerry

Well if you know of rocks that really look like that, then that should override anything. I guess I just meant that it would be good to see some changes from one part of the face to another. Color alone may do just as much as I was thinking. But like I said, it was/is good already.

But it can be kinda hard, I know.

If it was mine? Well I would think about central northern states. Because that is my own preference. So I would add some rectangular or squarish shapes to what you have. Not change anything major, just make it more like rock faces I am used to seeing in person.

I think the comp is really great, and I love how the plants are working. So just more square than sharp. And a slightly different color pallet. (again, thats just me).

If you are just playing and trying to learn new stuff, why not try a clip from the rectangle thread? You don't have to get it perfect on the whole scene, just nice in that one area up front. It was hard for me, but you may find it pretty easy? Just what I thought about when I saw the image.
