Hey, today I searched quite a bit for a realistic plant/vegetation distribution in wich you feed your heightmap and you receive one or more masks of where plants and trees can grow.

It needs to look natural and realistic, folowing logical sense.

One thing I found on the web is this http://www.dartnall.f9.co.uk/ but the download seems to be down for me... sadly...

I hope someone can help me here :D

EDIT: I also would like to know if there is any kind of procedural agricolture generator (generates crop fields and stuff like that)

There's no such thing in Terragen, you'd have to make the vegetation masks per species either by painting maps (Photoshop, e.g. import in image map shader) or procedural by using the slope and height settings of a surface shader or distribution shader, or any other means within TG.

Terragen uses/imports .obj 3rd party models and XFROG is one maker of these. They periodically offer free samples and this is their Christmas offer. They have .tgo (terragen format) available as well as a host of other formats.
