I can't get the Output Image File Name to change from C:\\.......
even though I'm setting my File saving path to F:\\.... in the preferences?

How should this behave?

It's a pain to have to change every new project to somewhere other than on the default C drive.

Kevin, you mean the "Automatic render output"?  I haven't had that problem.
(04Dec20) Ryzen 1800x, 970 EVO 1TB M.2 SSD, Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR4 3200 Mem,  EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Graphics 457.51 (04Dec20), Win 10 Pro x64, Terragen Pro 4.5.43 Frontier, BenchMark 0:10:02

No, I don't have "Automatically save all renders" enabled.

I presume the file saving path in the preferences is just to save tgd, tgc  etc. files and not renders, which defaults to the C: drive, and I don't want them there!

The path output options in Preferences are only for the items on that drop-down list. You will notice that the path selection changes when you switch to a different dropdown item (although they all start at the Default Path, so will look the same; change one to see what I mean). I believe the file save paths for images and TGDs are just the last place you saved to.

O.K. thanks Oshyan = got that part now, but what determines the default path for images and extra output images? Can't this path be "fixed" to something else? Mine always chooses a path I don't want images to got to.

Oshyan

Ah, well for that you are in luck. :D That's controlled by the Sequence Output item on the dropdown in File Saving preferences. Just select Sequence Output from that list, then Choose Location and it'll go there by default in the future.

Thank you Oshyan. Working as it should now. :)
