Pls see attached crop render and let me know if u have an idea what are those stripes doing on the bottom half of the star. There is an ocean under and when I disable that the stripes are gone. But since I will need the ocean for the render I cannot do that.
I tried already:
-change the position of the sun left, right, up, down
-change slightly the camera angle
-changed the Ray detali multiplier from 0.25 to 1

None of the above helped to get rid of the stripes. Any ideas pls?

Reflection of the ocean? If it is that, changing the position-angle slightly could help for example.

Yeah I guess it is a reflection of that. No clue why like this... :( :'( I tried to change the pos already but I cannot do much as the object is already in the final position. That is the reason I try to figure out any other solution...

Comping is the easiest way.One with ocean one without.

Is the position so final?
A very small angle change (The top a little to the far side and the bottom a little to us) even might do it.
Not sure how the refraction behaves there.

I guess the position is not so final anymore :D
I was working on the position for a while till I get the cool glass shiny/sparkling effect. Client said awesome... he did not realized the stripes but I do so I will not turn over the render even if I loose money. I am a little old fashioned on this :) Still think trust is a very important thing...

Changing the index of refraction might also help.
