SSS+ warp is far more uncontrollable than masking image maps, but I probably still miss the point  :P

Hope this clarifies what I am asking. However I think this has already been answered.

The first is a simple shape shader with a 50% smooth step, the second is an image map with a 0.5 border blending.

Thanks Dune, been playing around with the sss + warp + adjust colour and it is giving me the results I'm after inside TG 8)
