When you use the PF as a mask it prevents the strata shader from applying in the masked areas.

Gonna have to try mhaze's suggestion myself.

Have a look at this Clay. I made it a while back when figuring out Surface layers. It's all preview colours so just turn em off and apply your own preferences

Ok went through your file, where the hell are you adding the color variants? Its all blacks and greys and whites, this has to be a mac and a PC and version thing.

Oshyan

The Mac and PC versions work identically in terms of shading, etc. The only differences are hotkeys, minor UI layout variances, and access to the native OS color picker.

I don't get that at all. The preview colours are added in the Surface layer with the click box...that really has to be a mac thing as I see no preferences for the preview window. Could it be you have shaders disabled in 3D preview, the button next to Reset at the top of the Preview window?

Gave it a try back when I was still mainly working in Imagine and Bryce..wasn't a fit with me and good thing cuz I couldn't afford it then or now. The program that's always intrigued me is C4D..has a similar feel to Imagine but 21st century. Imagine was barely out of the Amiga in it's thinking.

Ok, so here we go with another, I'm getting the clouds, so disregard the basic landscape hehe. I made it look cartoonish so I could see the shader network:-P

Oh and I circled the edging? why does that happen? I know how haze and such works, but it looks "masked out" might be one of my settings being off?

bobbystahr

Do you have Fake dark power and Fake dark sharpness settings on in the cloud's Tweaks settings? It's often easier if you just attach the .tgd to your message then we can look under the hood
