Drowning Mountain

This is my newest project. It was hard to texture the ground and make it look good so I just drown the mountain in clouds

The clouds are purely fantastic, no better word for it. The texturing on the mountain isn't great though, I'm not sure why, but it looks bland in comparison with the rest of the image. Improve the mountain and this could easily be image of the week.

Those clouds are quite amazing!  Perfect example of broken stratus.  Do you have a clip file or any tips?

Really Great Clouds! The only thing I would change is the atmo blue effect on the snow cover. Lighten it up with some gray tint and not so saturated. You might also lighten up the vertical rock color, both high and low colors with a little contrast so the rock has a little more visible detail.  Not much just a tad. Ok I'll shut up now.

I love this in every way.  The only small negligible change I might make would be some more detail to the terrain or something to make it look more varied.  But, at this height I think everything looks quite believable.

I will change the texture on the mountain and try to fix some of the other things pointed out.
If someone want to share a tip or to about surface texturing I will be happy to learn them.

Great image!  As everyone has said, I love the clouds.  The lighting on the mountain looks great too.  I agree that a little more variation and textures would be useful, but I personally think that, despite the small imperfections that people have already pointed out, this is a great image.
