Problem installing Latest TG3 on MAVERICKS

I've been away from Terragen for many months so I'm not up to date on the latest releases.  Last night I did download the latest available version.  The DMG seemed to work fine and, stupidly, I chose the option of replacing my current TG3 version with the latest version.

When I try to open TG#, I get a system message:  "Terragen 3.app can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.  Your security preferences allow installation of only app from the Mac App Store and identified developers."  I've followed the Apple guide for working around whatever problem is causing this -- with no success.  I've searched the forum for mention of this problem but I don't see anything.

Can someone guide me out of this thicket?  OR Is there a way that I can get the DMG for the earlier version of TG3 unless/until I can figure out what the problem is?

Thanks in advance.  It's good to be back.

Simply "control" click, or right click  the TG installer.dmg. then click open.

You have security settings that will not allow any app to be installed that is not verified app store. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS. Simply understand that when you download an app, you have to tell OSX that its ok with you to open it and install. This is a good thing.

Many Thanks, BADGER.  I had already tried the CTRL-click with no success.  It worked for me after I read your note.   ;D

Glad you got it figured out already. We're working on getting officially setup with Apple to avoid that warning in the future too. :)

To the point where I can just download from the app store?

Being in the App Store requires that we give Apple a significant percentage of our sale price, which we can't justify at this time. There is a reason that most apps above $99 are not available directly through the App Store (except Apple's, of course - e.g. Final Cut, Logic, etc.). So unfortunately we won't be putting Terragen in there in the immediate future.
