Bored...my weekend gig got cancelled due to dental problems...for once not mine, s0 I sunk into a bit of a depression and did a lil scene reminiscent of the place I was to be playin. Main cabin came as a badly textured .3ds from one of the free sites we go to so I had a bit of fun there and the A Frame is from a Mod at Rendo, wheatpenny, and needed a bit of textural adjustment as well.
The basic scene is the Default scene with a play around with the coastline to get a spot and a SS shader+ a Frac Warp for the lake. The original XFROG free Fir Tree with a grass pop from Walli and a grey willow hedge around the Cabin. Procedural grass for the main grassy ground and pretty much presets for all the textures on the terrain. C&C welcome.

I like the idea! Nice.
Those pine trees looks stretched for me...maybe not...
Then maybe on the mountain some color variations? Like grass patch or somethin'.

Too bad about your gig, Bobby, but at least you got yourself anice render again  ;) Yeah, some grass or other veggies on the mountain, or fill it completely with the firs. Water a little calmer (a lot actually), and maybe grass (internal) all over the area where there's no gravel path or sand.

Thanks guys, I admittedly was focusing on the houses and terrain and in the free version I'm limited to 3 pops. firs, hedge willow and Walli grass so anything on the mountain will have to be textural. Had a hard time with the internal grass which is why I switched to Walli grass...maybe I'll give 'er another try..agree on the water totally...should be calm actually for the scene and may add some reeds around the over clean dock...that needs water marks at least on the posts...will require reverse engineering as it's 1 object for Poser.
Currently messing about with a sample network you threw up for Michael in another post Ulco...just havin' fun and if it's worthy I'll post it.

Too bad about your gig, Bobby, .
In a way divine intervention as I didn't feel we were ready to host a drunken rowdy campfire jam...my voice being a bit weak from lack of gigging. You can practice/rehearse all y' want but it's the gigs where the inner soul comes out that you build strength for vocals. and in the year since my ex passed I haven't really felt a lot like performing till lately when I found a bass player who "gets" my stuff. There will be other gigs to be certain now that I have a trio instead of a lonely solo show.

So you got a bass, and who else is in the trio? I can understand the way it works; if you have a vibe between people, you strengthen eachother, and get to an ultimate high. I love bass gitar, when I was younger (18) I knew an American bassplayer in the gallery scene where I 'worked', who 'thumbed' amazing stuff out of his machine. Terrific!

Keep at this. There is a nice pacific northwest feel to it.    ;)

really a pity about your gig!

But nice render! Perhaps you find the mood to tinker around it. I can't add much to what Dune suggested.

... more than 30 years ago my first gig was only my bass player an I. I was'nt able to play the guitar at all and the bassist was deaf! Really! He needed physical contact to the speakers and played only via vibrations... We were soooooo bad... but also so drunk that we liked our stuff...
At the beginning we had 15-20 people audience... after we began playing it were only 2 or 3 - also drunk  ;D

Unfortunately at that time there were no computers or Terragen or stuff like this... would have been better  ;)

The band...the bass player is the son of my old best friend who got whacked by a car in 2000 and lay semi paralyzed for 9 months till he passed. Having Miles in the band is kinda like having his Dad back but on Bass as opposed to guitar. The Washboard playe is a friend of some 30 years.

Doc et al...rendering a tweaked version...will post when it's done.

Thanks all for the band comments. We're, at some point this summer/fall doing a 'live from the floor' take of our set and I'll post a dl link here for it when done for y'all.
