I'm particularly interested on how you did the dark lines on the high slopes so looking forward to seeing how it was done.

Chris, do you mean the dark lines on the first image? If so, they were a result of the fake stones layer (used for the snowy boulders/lumps of snow) having intersect underlying - favour depressions set. Once I removed that the lines disappeared.

Don't know what within that was making the lines, so I can't really say how it was done. just how it was undone! :)

The peaks and flowing downward along the rim tips, those dark colored areas in your latest render.

Thank you for posting your files, that was very generous.    :)

Wow! The last one is even better!

Really fine work! This is my favorite example of the Erosion shader to date. The Icy Water is simply spectacular!

Dune

Great render, and thanks for sharing the ice ( I've got an older one, also by you I guess, but this one's very nice. I only replaced the get position by a get position in texture and warped the cracks by fractal warp). Using it on a Roman winter scene right now.

Kevin F

Thanks for all the great comments folks.
@ Dune, look forward to seeing your warped version. What's the benefit of Get position in texture?

WAS

This is just great, love the second version the most. I have not done ice/snow enough. You challenge me to an icy scene with this. And with that, I am off.

Dune

Get position in texture will let you adjust the voronoi (warp, e.g.), get postion won't.
