I would like to buy a specific tree but cannot find it. (I mean xfrog might have it but their prices are very unreal for me so that is s no go.) We have some people around with tree making abilities so I was thinking they might do a little business via the nwda store. NWDA has friendly prices for personal use. Like 4-5 usd for a tree...not sure if this is a good business for a tree maker but might be. What do u guys thinking? Like we could do a survey and see what is the most wanted item so it can be sold in volume thus the artist can get money for the effort.

I think the only problem is that all the tree making software forbids making trees. Otherwise, I would 2nd this. But apparently selling trees is punishable by death.

There are a few complaint threads on this topic. Not sure if I remember if the restrictions apply to all the softs or just the ones that people actually use.

Anyway, if you want some free trees that will work well in the background, there is a free app for iOS if you have a friend with an iPad. It could be a good solution for you. " treeSketch " I would do it for you because I totally feel your pain. But I don't have an iPad either.

What do u mean forbids? U buy the software so u can use it to profit no?
Then how we have trees on sale at nwda?

Its a bit complex for me. But it seems that you can only sell your product in certain ways, that apparently are ways no one really want to do.

What you are asking for is trees at a price you feel good about, but the ways they can be sold means no profit because the sites you can sell on take a large %.

Walli is the best at making it all work. But I don't know if he is making new trees. I believe he uses x frog. X frog may be the only big tree soft that lets users sell their trees the way they want. Or Walli may have a professional relationship with xfrog. I don't know.

But I totally agree with you that there are not too many options, and even fewer cheap ones. Again walli is the best at making things possible for all, but I really don't know if he is still making new trees. He does (or did) sell them on NWDA though.

Xfrog Software does allow you to sell your models wherever you want, as long as they're your, original models and not based on any of theirs. I do believe Xfrog is the only major software that allows such free distribution of resulting models and I find this restriction in other software rather absurd.

Walli does have a professional relationship with Xfrog (or at least has in the past), but also uses other tools.

I finally broke down and bought an Ipad.............first Apple product. Still getting used to the UI........ ???

Found this about Treesketch:
"I contacted The University of Calgary and Steve Longay (programmer) and unfortunately Steve is finished at the university and off to private business ( Bllip.com ) and noone at the University program seems to want to recompile the code for IOS8, so it has been removed from the App store.
Real pity, as probably it is mostly just recompiling and making minor changes to make it run on IOS8... but that's how it is.
Personally I think a commercial version of Tree Sketch would fare better than a wine label scanning app with a very strange name (ref Bllip.com) but that's how it is. Tree Sketch is an excellent example of "Abandonware"."

I don't use Mac's but it looked like a nice software.

re: Kadri's post:

That is not good news. Also, it is strange because what you wrote sounds like the app will not play on an updated iPad? Or just a new iPad that never had the older iOS, or what? Updated operators should not be breaking apps, in my humble non programer opinion.

Isn't that app in the public domain anyway? I thought I remember reading that it was open source or maybe not. Someone get the code and sell a update!
