Ungrouping Materials in Poseray

How do you ungroup materials in poseray? I want to convert this object to OBJ and apply the textures, but both versions have issues. I even converted the Max file while at a friends, which provided more grouping objects, but still some materials were grouped which made it impossible to give the correct texture to the correct parts. It would change multiple parts textures.
If what I am saying doesn't make sense, this is the issue. If the change the selected parts texture, it will change the main texture of the main sphere.

I had no time and it is not an answer to your question but i made an export from Lightwave as an OBJ file.
Not sure if it is this what you want.
