Curious, have you ever thought about making a border of a tree line encircling the grass area where the dirt meets the grass? Not certain of it would make a nice border with the whole minimalist theme though. It would be just one single row so not a lot of trees there.

Here's a lo res version of what I'm going with, took just over an hour so I figger overnight for the higher res version.

That will work and i like the perspective to. The sun is in a very good position. Almost symbolic in a sense.

Dune

That is really cool. You could add some half open treeline in the distance between the parklike front and the far mountains.

mhaze

Excellent, try adding a positive displacement to the distant mountains, there is an unnatural hole behind the pool.

DocCharly65

I like the minimalism in this image. Very peaceful!

Well 7 hours in it's almost gone the first 4/7ths, most of  the sky and treetops...almost. I keep designing scenes well beyond the abilities of my confuser to do in any time like the present. Had I the cash I'd be sending all my finals to the farm. I may have to pause the render till tonight as I have some heavy work to do for a friend, and some cash on the computer today. Awaiting that call right now.

update without any of the suggestions as I started the render a while before they were posted...
Mick, the unnatural hole is I think where the SS shader stops on the flattened terrain. In the first iteration it wasn't as visible as the camera was lower. Dunno what to do 'bout it except reset to that camera position.

Very odd, Bobby. Your render is hung up in about the same proportions as my current render (attached)
By any chance are you making heavy use of painted shaders in the bottom third of your image?

nope but a fair bit of displacement and water to come...it's not hung as it's still chipping away at it it 1 pixel bites...I'll likely let this finish as my appointment for today cancelled...a snow day in the country so he ain't driving on country roads.

Well here it is 22:53:19 hrs later. Would have posted earlier but I fell asleep watchin' tube while this finished. Thanks for all the help along the way...I am happy with this as it matches the zen vision it started from.

Beautiful just as it is.

Just for your info - I've had this issue before, mask the background and apply a large positive displacement offset in the basic shader that'a creating the terrain.

Agreed, as it is does match that Zen theme quite well.

Dune

Great job. I like the stillness, and the subtle paths on the right (and all the rest).
