Very nice work on this one as well. As Oshyan said, image of the week material. It should go into the official TG2 gallery if you ask me.

I'm curious about the type of mapping used on the rocks. Was it top down, side on, from camera or other? They seem well placed and undistorted.

Joda, det ligner dette her, vet du. ^^ Digger fargen på himmelen, forresten. Landskapet er nydelig, stå på. :)

This picture is actually one of the ones that first made me download Terragen.

Thanks a lot guys.
I have a plan to update this one in the near future. I'm just waiting for the beta :P

You use "Object UV", I'm surprised because I want to try this soluce and it's no possible why ?
I don't know, it's not easy to work with "image map shader" !

Hi Phylloxera

I understand what you mean. I've noticed that using "image map" as textures doesn't alway work the way I want it to.
Sometimes it looks funny, sometimes it looks good. It almost looks like there is a little problem with the UV and I can't figure it out.
If it doesn't work with the image you are using, try another one. Sometimes that solves the problem ;)

If I had this scene I would have shared it, but I lost all of my scenes not to long ago. Anyway.... I am going to make a new version of this one and if I figure out the problem I'll let you know.

"Object UV" is designed for imported objects that have 2D UV coordinates in the object file. If you use "Object UV" on terrain, the UV coordinates are just the X and Y coordinates of the terrain and is therefore similar to "Side Z (edges = XY)". This may only look good if the camera is looking from an appropriate direction (e.g. nearly along the Z axis). If looking nearly along the X axis it might be better to use "Side X (edges = YZ)".

EDIT: made some corrections

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.

Hi Matt

Will it be possible to make it generate the UV coordinates for terrains?

I don't know; it's not an easy problem to solve, and it's a lot more complex when the terrain is procedurally generated. It's usually a good idea to just choose a few projections that are appropriate for the scene you are rendering (either of the side or plan projections, or a projection from an arbitrary viewpoint using an attached camera). That is already possible.
