This is a test image for the VR challenge. It needs more work, of course.

nice rocks and feel and color. This would be interesting to see. Very crisp kinda look.

The plants do look very large, due to the low camera. Would it look better if the camera was a little bit higher?
Howgh!

I was thinking about bringing the camera higher.  I always keep the camera low for working on the shaders. It is so easy to make the close areas of the terrain look very rough.
I added some more clouds on the next test; the far part of the sky seemed too empty.

I was wondering if the plants actually look *small* (I did not check in a pano viewer though). Fruiting cactus of this kind are generally large-ish, and especially the ocotillo can often tower over a human figure. Maybe the sizes are just mismatched.

But yeah it looks nice otherwise. I love this kind of environment.

Great Henry! Don't know much about these plants, but the whole scene looks very nice to me.

Thanks for the feed back. :)

I have this quick render which has more plants and some more clouds. I will be doing a better render while I am at work.

Nice Henry! I'd strongly recommend GISD (which I always do!) to make the shadows less flat.

Last nights test render. I added some more plants, and clouds. The cumulus clouds need some work. More objects to come.

Much better imho. The fake rocks have some strange bright edges. It seemed to be there in your previous version as well, but less visible.

My guess is it's because of a slope constraint of the dark sand/dirt  layer.

I had the camera exposure set much too high. ;)
