Testing...two or three things................. :)

Mountains, clouds, trees and ground ? We all do this all the time  :P  ;D

Joke aside it looks nice. From where are the trees?

yossam

The trees are blue spruce from Speedtree................trying a 4k texture on the terrain in conjunction with some PFs'. Not entirely happy with it............don't think I have the scale correct yet. The texture is 4096X4096 and is supposed to fit 200 cm. Having a brain fart right now............. :o

The trees i see and like lately are from Speedtree mostly. Not surprised. Wish it wasn't so expensive.

The ground is hardly seen in the image.
Working from the beginning according to real scales is always the best and easiest to have not different problems later down the road.
Saying that, i forget that sometimes myself unfortunately.

I needed to render the trees as a test too, so I covered up most of the ground............. :P  It's a fractal terrain not heightfield so it's a little harder to know a certain size unless I use a SSS. Like I said............testing. If I can get the 4k sample to work halfway decent, I may see about some 8k textures.  ;)

Kadri............it may seem expensive at first, but Speedtree is probably one of the best software purchases that I have ever made. With a few clicks you can have a forest full of trees..............and their "low res" versions can just about be "Hero" trees. And they are very lightweight as far as polys. Not so with HD trees, they tend to be somewhat "fat".  ;)

:)
The landmark object is really helpful from that aspect.

Bare ass terrain at a smaller size................. :-*

AP

Some very nice and dense trees and the cloud lighting looks good as well. The bare terrain looks to be nicely detailed.

bobbystahr

I'd like to see the bare ass terrain larger but the texture looks very good at this res for starters
