Here's something I haven't seen too often... simultaneous renders using less than 100Mb RAM combined... one with a 77Mb tree

It's risen slowly since then, but still nowhere near the usual 300Mb - 1Gb each

bugger all displacements I guess. On is just a cloud test with a power fractal terrain, the other is a bit more complicated... 2 cloud layers, tree, a smattering of surfaces although only 1 with a small displacement and a power fractal terrain... but still a bit of a surprise.  RAM at 12Mb and 22Mb now with about 1/2Gb VM each. 

I guess it shows how much of a strain functions and displacements are. Both renders are at detail 1, AA 4 (no GI).... ahhh, both were rendering sky. One render has hit the ground now and up it goes... ;) It must have shovelled as much as possible off to VM when it started rendering
