Anyone cross this before? After install of TG I get "The program cant start because Embree.dll is missing from your computer" . In this case reinstalling does not seem to fix the problem.

Any suggestions oh wide world of Terragen users?

Thanks

Never had this problem. Can`t help you there, sorry.
Try a virus scan first, I`d say.

Did you google it? Lots of infos about what it is and where it belongs to.
I find the dll in a folder of a benchmark for example or in the 3DSMax folder.

It belongs to the Embree  Ray Traycing Kernels.
On Github you find the Embree Example Renderer for all OSes.

You might want to download the *.zip archive for your OS and install it, perhaps?
Maybe that fixes the problem.

Or: do a search in the registry and find out where it is/was registered.
Could give you some hints too.

Other then that Terragen staff should be able to tell you if it really is needed for the software.

Good luck.
cheers, Klaus

Hey Ethan, get on the alpha forums. ;)

More particularly, it sounds like you have an install of multiple versions of Terragen and one version is looking in the folder of another version for its files. Perhaps a system path issue, or using the wrong shortcut, or something. If you're not explicitly intending to run multiple versions then uninstall all versions, check your Program Files directory for remaining Terragen files, delete them, and then reinstall the 1 version of Terragen that you want to use.

I remember this error and it was exactly as Oshyan described. I had two versions of TG alpha on at the same time somehow

ok, waaay off :-[

Don't bother so much.
The Alpha type of members are known to get lost in the different sections in the forums from time to time.
Sometimes they might need help, but they find their way in the end   ;D
