Edge Sharpment of clouds:  1.6
Cloud Density 0.006
Quality 4.36
Samples 155

(* Image shown is enlarged 400%)

Requesting Suggestions to reduce/eliminate the grain of the atmosphere etc.
The attached is just a sectional sample of the overall image.

-Thanks

Will

whats the cloud and image quality?
The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Buzzzzz

Looks to me like you render quality is really low and maybe AA also. try this: Set render quality at default of .5 and AA at 3. Set your Atmosphere settings quality to 32 to start. Then test a small crop in the sky to look for grain. Then you can boost the atmo quality as needed. If you go more than needed remember it will increase render times.

rmfrase

Cloud Quality was 4.36
atmosphere Samples  128
Render Quality       .5
Anti Aliasing           3
GI relative detail     2
GI Sample Quality   2

For clarification- the sample image I provided was enlarged to 400% to show the grain. even at regular size of 100% the grain is clearly visible on my monitor.

you need to inscrese the atmosphere smples (Quality tab in atmosphere settings)

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'm trying it now on one of my render systems.
I've increased the quality to 7 (unless anyone suggests other) and the number of samples to 256.  Detail is at .6, AA at 3.

dhavalmistry

quality 7???....Is this value for clouds???...If yes then it is unnecessary.....To get rid of grains for your atmosphere, all you need to do is change the "number of samples" in Atmosphere -> Quality tab
"His blood-terragen level is 99.99%...he is definitely drunk on Terragen!"

Ok, you indicate that 7 is too high. (as I am still learning all  this.)

But if one is doing a 40 x 20 (inch) on Canvas, what do you suggest?

dhavalmistry

40" x 20" ....damn thats a BIG render....first of all I want to make things clear....what is this "quality 7" for??...I am guessing, it is for clouds rite?.....If yes...then can you please give me all cloud settings including cloud height and cloud depth

he says clouds are 4.36.

ya I saw that.....then what is quality 7??whatever it is....its too high anyway!

I don't know, it would be easier if we could get the .tgd or a picture.

I've attached the .tgd.  My aim is not for a desktop image, but for a full quality render as size does matter.
I've got the settings down low on the tgd until I'm ready to proceed with a size of at least 40x20 (+)

I appreciate any imput.

Here is a sample of the image - I'm (now) working on the haze density as there is too sharp of a line at the horizon, and I'm also wanting to increase the visibility of the rays through the clouds.  And I'm also going to tweek the colors as the red is a bit too strong, both in the atmosphere and reflected on the water.

Wow.  Nice colors and textures.  Great lighting.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?
