A project that's been sitting waiting.Just a lake with a cool shoreline but today I made wavy water I actually like. I used the foam's mask as a mask for a thin total coverage cloud which really helps the sparkles; they are a product of the  Default new bloom and a small, very sharp Starburst. The waves are approx 1.5m and there is a grass pop which won't be really apparent till the larger hi res render later on. On the cliff I have MrLamppost's wee scale man for reference on the grass, but I doubt even I could find it as it's 3 km from the camera.

Some great ideas Bobby!  Just need the shoreline foam and you've cracked it!

Good luck, Bobby! Waves and foam look already nice! Waiting for the shoreline as mhaze says  :)

Nice start Bobby. You need something to tell size, indeed, so I'm curious where you take this.

I'm actually stuck...this started as a water challenge to myself and don't have a clue where to go...anyone have any direction ideas?
I'll try most anything...

Lighthouse?

Thought about that...I have one that isn't too 'pedestrian'...thanks for the shove in that direction.

IOR the same default settings on the water?

Love the sparkles and shoreline rock formation.

Yes, the trick is for sparkles you need atmosphere so the foam I was faking with the masked cloud was the secret to sparkles on water.

I have to be honest, Bobby; I'm not entirely convinced. The huge rocks on the shore seem to be out of place in such a green and rolling countryside. Some more rocky outcrops on land , or less rock on shore.... or a hard continous rocky shore, and some rock on the hill tops...

I hear ya Ulco,as I mentioned this started as a mere water test in a convenient hole in the terrain and everything else evolved thoughtlessly. I'm off to the beach for music today till Thursday but will tackle the scene armed with your suggestions when I return Thursday night...Thanks mate.
