Hi all.

I did some more surfacing work and extended the pine population and tweaked the water a bit on my Dale render that I posted a week or so ago. I did want to put whitecaps on the water as its quite choppy, but the results I got only coloured some of the water white, didn't look anything like whitecaps at all :( If theres anyone out there fancy writing a tutorial for whitecaps....?

Anyway, hope you like the new version (there is a difference... honest :) ) It took 68 hours and 7 mins to render  at 800x600 on my twin 3GHz Xeon workstation so I am NOT going to do it bigger :(

I see the difference and love it.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Really nice!

The water looks really good, but the waves are slightly too steep.  Any ratio above 1:7 height to wavelength, and waves will "white cap" in deep water, or "break" in shallow water.

Sorry to be so technical, but I really like the look of that water.   ;D

Ta Calico and moodflow, glad you like. Moodflow, never worry about getting too technical. Info like this is always useful to someone, even if most people haven't got a clue what you are on about  ;D As soon as I work out how to get "frothy" looking whitecaps, I'll add them to this scene. I agree the water looks a little "odd" without them

I like it. The clouds are great and I'm looking forward to the update mr-miley ;)
