Smoothing filter?

Is there a way to confine the new smoothing filter to slope or height? I have tried everything I could think of but it doesn't seem possible.

Nope, I've asked that as well, and Matt gave me the idea to merge two lines with a slope/height restricted mask. Haven't tried that yet, though.

Sounds like a lot of tampering. Thanks anyway.
Would be a useful addition though.
