Sun disc location VS Sun null in viewport

There seems to be an odd offset between the sun disc and cross representing said disc. Is this just because I'm up in space and should ignore the cross? Image attached.

The cross ("preview handle") is less accurate as you move away from the origin because it is not as far away as the sun should be. In contrast, the sun's disc is moved so that it appears to be consistent with the sun's lighting direction which is treated as constant everywhere in the scene, making it an infinite/directional light source. But the preview handle isn't moved the same way. We should fix that. You can still use it to move the sun, of course.

By the way, if you move the viewpoint while the preview is paused, the disc might also appear in the wrong place too (being calculated from where the preview was paused).

That's the explanation we came up with here too.  8) Glad to know you might fix it though!
