Very nice! Yes, somewhere in an old dusty box are some disks with wrap around panorama type landscape images where the edges have to lineup perfectly to be used in a virtual environment. Haha, then there are the 256x256 pixel renders to use as mobile phone screen savers. So funny how things have changed.  :)

I remember using the old school Terragen back at Foundation Imaging.
I'd render out a BG image and slap it on a card. 

Oooos and ahhs all around.
