I read about it yesterday. That totally sucks. I remember when MIR was being decommissioned - they actually steered it to make it burn above the Pacific Ocean. If there were any debris that managed to get through, they would just harmlessly plunge into ocean.

Guess Chinese are not amongst the most responsible Earthlings. ::)

From what I read, it won't respond to steering without the engines (which wont respond.)  I think our odds are much better than an aircraft falling on us.
