Life imitating art?
Can you believe this? I was looking for reference pictures of Jupiter and these images continued to appear. I thought several sites were accidentally showing oil paintings, but apparently these photos are real.

If you look closely, the second and third image has exactly the same... "cloud" formations (different camera tilt / rotation though) so you just might be right.

If these were "artist depictions", I doubt whether two people would paint patterns that resemble each other so closely. But then again, this might have just been one person. ::)

This is amazing. And it reminds me of some work I have seen somewhere here. Someone was playing with warped fractals, and it looked quite similar. Unfortunately I don't remember where or who it was...

Really love those shapes, they're just so beautiful. I've been trying to get a warper that iterates similar in repetition without too much variance.

These sort of shapes are just mesmerizing to me. Just beautiful, I couldn't imagine what the naked eye would yield over a low orbit if it were possible.
