Excellent realism, I really dig this. One thing, I would restrict the trees altitude to prevent them from populating at the higher elevations

thanks! yeah it was tricky with the tree altitude, its either too much or not enough. Going for the painted shader mask for the next time.

Just use a distribution shader for your populations. You can control both slope and altitude very easily. It also seems you are using a mask of some sort for the snow you can plug that into the distribution shader as well to have even more control. Keep them coming

Yeah I was using a distribution/surface shader for the trees, just needs more fine tuning.
