Dear community

I'm at a complete loss and hope you can help me. I've always had slight difficulties with the import of .obj files (textures not displaying) but this one here is different, so let me explain.

For my current scene I've bought myself a low-poly boat .obj model that was apparently made in 3ds max 2012, fully textured bla bla: https://3docean.net/item/boat-model/6001869 I paid, downloaded and tried my luck in TG. In the render I discovered that - again - the boat model was all black. And then I found out why: In the Folder of the object, there was no .mtl file! What can I do? Is there a way to simply create such a file myself? But how?

Technically if u load the .obj file into Blender and export it as an .obj it will create that file. It worked me once.

Or use (free) Poseray. Import, adjust stuff if needed and export.

I do not know why, but if you still have the original download, try extracting a second time. Does your first extraction provide materials, as promised? By all means, notify the provider of this problem if it does not.

The trick with PoseRay worked like a charm!
I'll Keep you posted with any results...
