Two days ago a friend asked me if I could make a creek.
I told her that this is one of the more difficult things in Terragen.
But of course I had to try. ;)

There are still some strange artifacts in the stone/water layer. but.
Best regards,

Very nice colors and great job with the rock textures.  I too wonder where those artifacts come from.

I love everything except the water.  What you've done is beautiful.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

Thanks for all your comments.
@ Dhavalmistry:
The Title only meant to say that it needed my -female- friends question if it was possible to make a creek  to motivate me to make this image in a day and a half ;)

The problem is that I didn´t want to make a fjord or even a stream, but a small creek.
So I tried hard to get some more dynamic water. It did´t come out that well, but after 7 hours rendertime I liked the forrest to much not to post it.
I will have to work on the water. :/
But there are parts of the water I really like. And others I don´t like:

Mr_Lamppost

Other than the water, which you know about, this is a very nice scene

Well done ;D
Smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast.

Just keep the same scene and work on adding a masked water bed with transparency, though for now that might be a little extra work (I wouldn't want to do.  I'm waiting on the real deal.)

@ calico:
Thanks for your advice,
but that´s not my intention.
When you look at the green spots in my last post you will get at least an idea of what I´m after.
I don´t want clear standing water but Water that flows downhill over rocks. Not Whitewater, but some kind of rapids. Didn´t see that here until now.
So I will have to try on.
Best Regards,
Jan

You already know it and I don't want to be cruel... but your river ain't convincing.

Your image has some great potentials. It's a good attempt and the rest of the scene is very good. I really like your stones. They look great and seems to have a good variation in both colour and shape.

Keep working on this. I would love to se this with a better river ;)

Latest version, not last.
It came out a bit darker, the water is a lot less dynamic than I hoped for, but maybe more convincing.
What seems to be upside-down reflections in the foreground is an unintendedly shifted subsurface map.
The rendertime is unnerving.

I´m still working on it.

Here the lighting is better again.
It´s kind of a pointilistic version (detail 0.2) cause I didn´t want to render another 20 hours.

I see that the water is more realistic now, but I´m still trying to make it more dynamic, rapidlike.
Maybe with real transparency.
