I was able to get an FBX convertor to grab the textures for the model by converting back to object.

That's good news. 

I already have a more and less fixed workflow via Blender with a object by object export and batch retexturing via Poseray. 
Perhaps this helps you one day: If you have imported the object once into TG, you only need to change the path to the new animated obj-sequence. (works only if you don't change texturing or names of course)

Meanwhile the hub is part of the Xwing. This unit is complex and disassembles into other builds, like a Transformer@ sort of......

Here the inner hallway is shown extruding. This hallway is a flight simulator tunnel for trainees. ;D
