Based on images obtained by the Soviet-launched Venera 9 lander way back in 1970, this I am hoping is a fair, if not fanciful representation of Earth's "sister" planet as viewed from the surface.  It is doubtful that humans will ever set foot on Venus, so the only way we may ever know what its surface looks like will probably be from the eyes of robotic spacecraft.

Very nice ambiance!Venus or not, the evocation is achieved by the suffocating atmosphere and the colours reminiscent of sulphur.
